Smart Cruise Control Speed
Setting the Smart Cruise Control Speed

1. Press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel to turn on the system. The Cruise (
) indicator will illuminate.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed. The Smart Cruise Control speed can be set as follows:
- 20–180 km/h: When there is no vehicle ahead
- 5 – 180 km/h: When there is a vehicle ahead

3. Push the switch down (SET-). The set speed and distance between vehicles will appear on the LCD display.
4. Release the accelerator pedal. The desired speed will be maintained automatically.
If a vehicle is ahead of you, the speed may decrease to maintain the distance to the vehicle ahead.
On a steep hill, the vehicle may slightly decelerate or accelerate uphill or downhill.
Information
The vehicle speed may decrease uphill and increase downhill.
CAUTION
When the vehicle speed is below 10 km/h, Smart Cruise Control is canceled. The driver must adjust the vehicle speed by pressing the accelerator or brake pedal depending on road conditions ahead and driving conditions.
To Increase the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed

Perform any of the following procedures:
- Push the switch up (RES+) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will increase by 1 mph (1 km/h) each time the switch is pushed up in this way.
- Push the switch up (RES+) and hold it. The set speed of your vehicle will increase by 5 mph (10 km/h). Release the switch at the desired speed.
CAUTION
Check traffic conditions before using the switch. The vehicle speed increases rapidly when you press and hold the switch.
To Decrease the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed

Perform any of the following procedures:
- Push the switch down (SET-) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will decrease by 1 mph (1 km/h) each time the switch is pushed down in this way.
- Push the switch down (SET-) and hold it. The set speed of your vehicle will decrease by 5 mph (10 km/h). Release the switch at the desired speed.
- You can set the speed up to 30 km/h.
To Temporarily Accelerate with Smart Cruise Control Active
If you want to temporarily increase speed while Smart Cruise Control is active, depress the accelerator pedal. The increased speed will not interfere with Smart Cruise Control operation or change the set speed.
To return to the set speed, release the accelerator pedal.
If you push the switch down (SET-) at the increased speed, the cruise speed will be set again at the current speed.
Information
Use caution when temporarily accelerating, because speed is not controlled automatically at this time, even if a vehicle is ahead of you.
The Smart Cruise Control set speed will be temporarily canceled if:

Canceled Manually
- The brake pedal is pressed.
- The CANCEL button on the steering wheel is pressed.
- Press the brake pedal and press the CANCEL button at the same time when the vehicle is stopped.
Smart Cruise Control is temporarily canceled when the set speed and distance indicator on the LCD display turn off.
The Cruise (
) indicator remains illuminated.
Canceled Automatically
- The driver door is opened.
- The vehicle is shifted to N (Neutral), R (Reverse), or P (Park).
- The vehicle speed exceeds 120 mph (190 km/h).
- ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) or ABS is operating.
- ESC is turned off.
- The sensor or cover is contaminated or blocked by foreign matter.
- The accelerator pedal is depressed for more than one minute.
- SCC system malfunction.
- Engine speed enters the red zone.
- FCA is activated.
Each of these actions cancels the Smart Cruise Control operation. The set speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead indicators on the LCD display will turn off.
If Smart Cruise Control is canceled automatically, Smart Cruise Control will not resume even if the RES+ or SET- switch is pushed.
Information
If Smart Cruise Control is canceled for reasons other than those listed above, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Smart Cruise Control Canceled

If the system is canceled, a warning chime will sound and a message will appear for several seconds.
You must control the vehicle speed by pressing the accelerator or brake pedal, depending on the road conditions ahead and driving conditions.
Always check road conditions. Do not rely on the warning chime.
To Resume the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed
If a method other than the cruise switch was used to cancel cruise and the system is still activated, the cruise speed will automatically resume when you push the RES+ or SET- switch.
If you push the switch up (RES+), the speed will return to the last set speed. However, if the vehicle speed drops below 30 km/h, it will resume when there is a vehicle in front of your vehicle.
Information
Always check the road conditions before pushing the switch up (RES+) to resume the set speed.
To Turn Off Cruise Control

• Press the CRUISE button (the cruise (
) indicator will turn off).
