1. Depress the brake pedal.
2. Press the [AUTO HOLD] button. The AUTO HOLD indicator turns off.
WARNING
To avoid sudden and unexpected vehicle movement, ALWAYS depress the brake pedal to deactivate Auto Hold before performing the following:
- Driving down a slope
- Reversing
- Parking
Information
- Auto Hold will not activate in the following situations:
- The driver's seat belt is unfastened and the driver's door is open.
- The hood is open.
- The tailgate is open.
- The shift lever is in P (Park).
- EPB is active.
For your safety, Auto Hold is replaced by EPB in the following cases:
- The driver's seat belt is unfastened and the driver's door is open.
- The hood is open when the shift lever is in D (Drive).
- The tailgate is open when the shift lever is in R (Reverse).
- The vehicle has been stationary for more than 10 minutes.
- The vehicle is parked on a steep slope.
- The vehicle has been moved several times.
In these situations, the parking brake indicator illuminates, the Auto Hold switch indicator changes from green to white, then an alarm sounds and a message appears informing you that EPB has been automatically activated. Before restarting, depress the brake pedal, check the surroundings of your vehicle and manually release the parking brake using the EPB switch. - If the Auto Hold indicator turns yellow, this indicates a malfunction of the Auto Hold system. We recommend that you visit an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- A mechanical noise may be heard when Auto Hold is activated. This behavior is completely normal.
WARNING
- Depress the accelerator pedal gently when starting the vehicle.
- For safety, deactivate Auto Hold when driving down a slope, reversing and parking.
NOTICE
If the door open detection system, the hood or the tailgate malfunctions, Auto Hold may not operate properly. We recommend that you contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
