Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
WARNING
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) does not prevent accidents caused by inappropriate or dangerous maneuvers. Although control of the vehicle is improved during emergency braking, always maintain a sufficient safe distance between your vehicle and obstacles ahead. When road conditions are particularly difficult, vehicle speed must be reduced. Under certain conditions, braking distance may be longer on vehicles equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) or ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
- Drive at reduced speed under the following conditions:
- Bumpy, gravel or snow-covered roads.
- Roads are covered with potholes or bumps.
- The vehicle is equipped with snow chains.
Do not test the safety functions of a vehicle equipped with ABS or ESC while cornering or at high speed. You may endanger your safety and that of other people.
ABS is an electronic brake system designed to prevent skidding. It allows the driver to brake while maintaining control of the vehicle.
