Description and Operation

Description

• The SS-A solenoid valve is mounted on the valve body and is an on/off solenoid valve used for shift control.
• The SS-A (ON/OFF) solenoid valve is installed on the valve body.

Inspection

1. 1
   Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. 2
   Disconnect the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery".)
3. 3
   Disconnect the connector (A) from the solenoid valve.

   

4. 4
   Measure the resistance between the sensor signal terminal and the sensor ground terminal.
5. 5
   Check that the resistance is within specification.

DEPOSIT

1. 1
   Disconnect the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery".)

   Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")
3. 3
   Remove the drain plug (A) and reinstall it after draining all the ATF. Drain plug tightening torque: 33.3 ~ 43 N·m

   Remove the wiring support bolt (A) or clip.

   Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

   Disconnect the breather hose (A) from the valve body cover.

   Remove the valve body cover (A).

   Disconnect the oil temperature sensor (A) and the solenoid valve connector (B) from the valve body.

   Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

   Remove the solenoid valve support (A).

   Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

   Remove the SS-B solenoid valve (A).

   

REMEDY

1. 1
   To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

   Check the fluid level after filling the automatic transmission with fluid. (Refer to Hydraulic System - Fluid)

   Perform the TCM adaptive value learning procedure. (Refer to Automatic Transmission Control System - "Repair Procedures")
