Description and Operation
Description
- The transaxle oil temperature sensor monitors the automatic transaxle fluid temperature and provides input to the TCM.
- This is an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor whose resistance is inversely proportional to the temperature level.
- The data received from this sensor is used to identify the torque converter clutch apply and release range at high and low temperatures, and to compensate hydraulic pressure levels during shifting.

Repair Procedures
Inspection
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the battery and battery tray.
- Disconnect the connector (A) from the solenoid valve.

- Measure the resistance between the sensor signal terminal and the sensor ground terminal.
- Check that the resistance is within specification.
DEPOSIT
- Remove the valve body. (Refer to Valve Body System - "Valve Body")
- Disconnect the input and output speed sensor connector (B).
- Loosen the main connecting bolt (B).
Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

- Disconnect the connector (A) from the solenoid valve.
- Press the lock
- pull the lever

- Remove the retaining clip from the solenoid valve connector (A).

- Remove the solenoid valve connector (A) by pressing it away from the transaxle.

REMEDY
- To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
- After filling the automatic transmission with fluid, check the fluid level. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Fluid")
