Transmission Control Module (TCM) Learning

When a shift shock occurs or transmission-related parts are replaced, TCM learning must be performed. TCM learning is required in the following cases.
  • Transmission Replacement
  • TCM REPLACEMENT
  • TCM Update

TCM Learning Procedure

  1. Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) temperature: 40~100 °C
  2. Static learning: Repeat the shift procedure described below four or more times while applying the brakes.
  3. Driving learning: Drive the vehicle from D range through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gears, keeping the throttle position sensor value stable (15~25%).
