Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) make it easier for others to see the front of your vehicle during the day, especially after dawn and before sunset. The DRL should be illuminated whenever you are driving in daylight. The DRL system will turn on when the headlight switch is in the OFF or AUTO position (when daylight is detected) and the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) is released.
The DRL system turns off when:
- Headlamps on.
- Parking brake is applied.
- The vehicle is turned off.

AUTO light position
The parking lights and headlights will turn on or off automatically depending on the amount of daylight, as measured by the ambient light sensor (1) located on the upper part of the instrument panel.
Even with the AUTO light function in operation, it is recommended to turn on the headlights manually when driving at night or in fog, driving in rain, or when entering dark areas such as tunnels and parking garages.
NOTICE
- Do not cover or spill anything on the sensor (1) located on the upper end of the instrument panel.
- Do not clean the sensor with window cleaner. The cleaner may leave a thin film that may interfere with sensor operation.
- If your vehicle has gold or other metallic coated tinted windshield glass, the AUTO headlight system may not operate properly.

To signal a turn, push the lever down for a left turn or up for a right turn to position (A).
If the indicator stays on without flashing or flashes abnormally, one of the turn signal bulbs may have burned out and need replacement.
One Touch Turn Signal
To use the one-touch turn signal, push the turn signal lever up or down to position (B), then release it.
The lane change signals will flash 3, 5, or 7 times.
Battery Saver Feature
The purpose of this function is to prevent the battery from discharging. The system automatically turns off the parking lights when the driver turns the vehicle off and opens the driver's door.
With this function, the parking lights will automatically turn off if the driver parks on the side of the road at night.
However, the parking lights remain on even if the driver's door is open when the headlight switch is turned to the parking light or AUTO (if equipped) position after the engine is turned off.
If necessary, to keep the lights on, turn the parking lights off and on again using the headlight switch on the steering column after the engine is turned off.
Headlight Delay Function
If the ignition switch is placed in the ACC or OFF position with the headlights on, the headlights (and/or parking lights) remain on for approximately 5 minutes. However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights turn off after 15 seconds. Also, when the vehicle is off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights (and/or parking lights) turn off after 15 seconds.
The headlights (and/or parking lights) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the remote key or Smart Key twice, or by turning the headlight switch to the OFF or AUTO position.
NOTICE
If the driver exits the vehicle through a door other than the driver's door, the battery saver function will not operate and the headlamp delay function will not turn off automatically.
This may cause the battery to discharge. To prevent battery discharge, turn off the headlights manually using the headlight switch before leaving the vehicle.
