Automatic Reverse

During power liftgate operation, if the power liftgate detects an obstacle, the liftgate will stop or fully open. The auto-reverse function may not operate properly, or it may activate unexpectedly under the following conditions:

• The auto-reverse function may not detect resistance if the detected resistance is below a certain level, or if the liftgate is almost fully closed near the latched position.
• The auto-reverse function may activate when a strong impact occurs without an obstacle present.

WARNING

Never intentionally place any object or part of your body in the path of the power liftgate to test the auto-reverse function. Serious injury or damage to the vehicle or object may occur.

Information

The power liftgate may stop operating if the auto-reverse function activates more than two times while attempting to open or close the liftgate. If this occurs, carefully open or close the liftgate manually, then wait 30 seconds and try to operate the power liftgate again.
