Power Liftgate Reset

In some cases, it may be necessary to reset the power liftgate control. Cases where a power liftgate reset may be required include:

  • When the 12V battery has been recharged
  • When the 12V battery has been reconnected after removal or replacement
  • When the related fuse has been reinstalled after removal or replacement

1. With the engine off or running, shift the transmission to P (Park).

2. Press and hold the power liftgate open/close button inside (A) and the outside button (B) at the same time until you hear a beep.

3. Slowly close the liftgate manually.

4. Press the power liftgate open/close button on the outside. The power liftgate will open with a beep sound.

Wait until the power liftgate has fully opened to complete the reset. If the liftgate stops before it fully opens, the reset cannot be completed.

If the power liftgate does not operate properly after the procedure above, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
