Battery Charging
Your vehicle is equipped with a maintenance-free battery manufactured using calcium.
• If the battery has discharged in a short period of time (for example, due to headlights or interior lights left on, or a vehicle not used for some time), slowly charge the battery (low current) for 10 hours.
• If the battery has gradually discharged due to high electrical load during vehicle use, charge it with 20~30 A for two hours.
WARNING
- Battery charging
Observe the following precautions when charging the battery:
• Remove the battery from the vehicle and place it in a well-ventilated area.
• Do not smoke near the battery or perform any action that may cause sparks or an open flame.
• Monitor the battery during charging. Stop charging or reduce the charging rate if the cells begin to gas heavily (boiling) or if the electrolyte temperature in any cell exceeds 49 °C.
• Wear protective goggles when checking the battery during charging.
• To disconnect the battery charger, follow this procedure.
1. Set the battery charger main switch to the "OFF" position.
2. Disconnect the clamp from the negative battery terminal.
3. Disconnect the clamp from the positive battery terminal.
WARNING
• Before performing maintenance or charging the battery, turn off all electrical equipment and stop the engine.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable first. Connect this cable last.
