Filter Replacement

The air cleaner filter can be cleaned during inspection using compressed air. Do not attempt to wash or rinse it, as water may damage the filter. If it is contaminated, replace the air cleaner filter.

1. Lift the air cleaner filter cover. 1.

2. Pull the lever down to UNLOCK position 2.

3. Replace the air filter element.

4. Install the air cleaner cover in the reverse order of removal.

Information

If the vehicle is operated in extremely dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the recommended intervals (refer to "Severe Conditions Maintenance" in this chapter).

NOTICE

  • Do not drive with the air cleaner filter removed. This may cause excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air cleaner filter, be careful not to let dust or dirt enter the air intake. This may cause damage.
  • Use genuine HYUNDAI parts or the equivalent specified for your vehicle. Use of non-genuine parts may damage the mass air flow sensor.
