Battery
WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death to yourself or bystanders when working near or handling the battery:
Always read and follow the instructions carefully when handling the battery.
Wear protective goggles designed to protect your eyes from acid spray.
Keep all flames, sparks, and smoking materials away from the battery.
Hydrogen is always present in batteries. It is highly flammable and may explode if ignited.
Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Batteries contain sulfuric acid, which is very corrosive. Do not allow acid to contact eyes, skin, or clothing.
If acid gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and get immediate medical attention. If acid gets on your skin, wash the area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, consult a doctor immediately.
- Lift the battery using the battery carrier or by hand at opposite corners. When lifting a battery with a plastic case, excessive pressure on the case may cause battery acid to leak.
- Do not attempt to start your vehicle if the battery is frozen.
- Never attempt to charge the battery while the vehicle battery cables are connected to the battery.
- The electronic ignition system operates at high voltage. Never touch these components when the engine is running or when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
NOTICE
To avoid damaging the battery:
- Always fully charge the battery and store the vehicle indoors if you do not plan to use it for an extended period, or if the outside air temperature is low enough to cause the battery to freeze.
- Always keep the battery fully charged to prevent damage to the battery case in low temperature areas.
- Never connect unauthorized devices to the battery.
