The ESC indicator illuminates when the ignition is turned on but should turn off after approximately 3 seconds. When ESC is on, it monitors driving conditions, and under normal driving conditions the ESC indicator will remain off.

When slippery conditions or poor road traction are encountered, ESC will operate and the ESC indicator will flash, indicating that ESC is operating.

If the ESC system malfunctions, the indicator illuminates and remains on. Take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system inspected.
