The welcome system helps keep the driver visible when the headlamps turn on as the driver approaches the vehicle.

Door Handle Illumination

When all doors (and the tailgate) are closed and locked, the door handle illumination turns on for approximately 15 seconds if:

  • Convenience > Welcome Mirror/Light > Unlock Door is selected in the Settings menu in the instrument cluster or infotainment system.
    - The door lock button is pressed on the Smart Key.
    - The outside door handle button is pressed while carrying the Smart Key.
    - You insert your hand into the outside door handle while carrying the Smart Key.
  • A Smart Key is detected, and both Convenience > Welcome Mirror/Light > Unlock Door and Convenience > Welcome Mirror/Light > Driver Approach are selected.

You can activate or deactivate the Welcome Light function from the Settings menu in the instrument cluster or infotainment system.

Headlights and Parking Lights

When the headlight switch is in the headlight or AUTO position and all doors (and the tailgate) are locked and closed, the position lights and headlights turn on for 15 seconds when the door unlock button on the remote key or Smart Key is pressed.

If you press the door lock or unlock button, the position lights and headlights turn off immediately.

Interior Light

When the interior lamp switch is in theWhen the door lock switch is in the ON position and all doors (and the tailgate) are closed and locked, the room lamps turn on for 30 seconds when:

- The door unlock button is pressed on the remote key or Smart Key.
- The outside door handle button is pressed while carrying the Smart Key.
- You insert your hand into the outside door handle while carrying the Smart Key.

If you press the door lock or unlock button on the Smart Key, the lamps turn on immediately.
