Information

If heavy snow or ice has accumulated on the windshield, defrost the windshield for approximately 10 minutes or until the snow and/or ice is removed to prevent damage to the wiper and washer system.

AUTO Wiper

The rain sensor, located at the upper end of the windshield, detects the amount of precipitation and controls the wiper cycle interval.

To change the sensitivity setting, turn the sensitivity control knob.

If the wiper switch is set to the AUTO position when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the wipers operate once to perform a system self-check. Set the wiper switch to the OFF position when the wipers are not in use.

WARNING

To avoid injury:

  • Do not touch the upper edge of the windshield near the rain sensor.
  • Do not wipe the upper end of the windshield with a damp or wet cloth.
  • Do not press on the windshield.

NOTICE

To prevent damage:

  • When washing the vehicle, set the wiper switch to the OFF position to stop the automatic wiper operation.
  • Do not remove the sensor cover located at the upper end of the passenger side windshield.
