Shifting
Fully depress the clutch pedal before shifting gears. When releasing the clutch pedal, lightly depress the accelerator pedal.
Always use FIRST gear when starting from a standing stop.
NOTE:
Some transmission noise is normal. This noise may be most noticeable when the vehicle is idling in NEUTRAL with the clutch engaged (clutch pedal released), but it can also be heard while driving. The noise may also be more noticeable when the transmission is warm. This noise is normal and is not an indication of a clutch or transmission problem.
Recommended Vehicle Shift Speeds
To use the manual transmission efficiently for both fuel economy and performance, shift up as indicated in the recommended shift speed chart. Shift up at the vehicle speeds shown for acceleration. Under heavy load or when towing a trailer, these recommended upshift speeds may not apply.

NOTE:
The vehicle speeds shown in the table above apply to 2WD High and 4WD High only. Vehicle speed in 4WD Low will be considerably lower.
