Tilt and Telescopic Steering

~1min read

The tilt and telescopic steering wheel allows you to adjust the steering wheel before driving. You can also raise it to give your legs more room when getting in and out of the vehicle.

The steering wheel should be adjusted so that you can operate it comfortably and still see the warning lights and gauges on the instrument panel.

WARNING - Steering Wheel Adjustment

Never adjust the steering wheel angle or height while driving. You may lose control of the vehicle.

▼Manual Type

To change the steering wheel angle, pull down the lock release lever (1), adjust the steering wheel to the desired angle (2) and height (3), then pull up the lock release lever to lock the steering wheel in place. Be sure to adjust the steering wheel to the desired position before driving.

✽ NOTICE

Sometimes after adjustment the lock release lever may not lock the steering wheel. This is not a malfunction. It occurs when the two gears are not properly engaged. In this case, adjust the steering wheel again and then lock it.

▼Electric Type

Adjust the steering wheel angle (2) and height (3) using the control (1) on the steering column. Move the steering wheel so that it points toward your chest rather than your face. Make sure you can see the instrument cluster warning lights and gauges.

After adjustment, push the steering wheel up and down to make sure it is locked in position. Always adjust the steering wheel position before driving.

✽ NOTICE

To avoid battery discharge, do not operate these functions when the engine is stopped.
