All-Season Tires

Kia specifies all-season tires on some models to provide good performance for year-round use, including snowy and icy road conditions. All-season tires are identified by ALL SEASON and/or M+S (Mud and Snow) on the tire sidewall. Snow tires have better snow traction than all-season tires and may be more appropriate in some areas.

Summer Tires

Kia specifies summer tires on some vehicle models to provide superior performance on dry roads. The performance of summer tires is significantly reduced on snow and ice. Summer tires do not have the M+S (Mud and Snow) traction rating on the tire sidewall. If you plan to drive your vehicle in snowy or icy conditions, Kia recommends using winter tires or all-season tires on all four wheels.

Winter Tires

If you equip your vehicle with winter tires, they must be the same size and have the same load capacity as the original tires. Winter tires must be installed on all four wheels; otherwise, handling may be adversely affected.

Winter tires must sustain an air pressure 28 kPa (4 psi) higher than the standard tire pressure recommended on the tire placard on the driver's side center pillar, or up to the maximum pressure shown on the tire sidewall, whichever is lower.

Do not drive faster than 120 km/h if your vehicle is equipped with winter tires.

WARNING

Do not use summer tires at temperatures below 7 °C or when driving on snow or ice. At temperatures below 7 °C, summer tire rubber may lose its elasticity, and therefore traction and braking performance as well. Change the tires on your vehicle to winter or all-season tires of the same size as the vehicle's standard tires. Both tire types are marked with the M+S (Mud and Snow) symbol. Using summer tires at very low temperatures may cause cracks in the tread, permanently damaging the tires.
