Tire Replacement

~1min read

If the tire wears evenly, the tread wear indicator (A) will appear as a solid band across the tread. This shows that less than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) of tread remains on the tire. Replace the tire when this occurs.

Do not wait until the band appears across the entire tread before replacing the tire.

The ABS works by comparing wheel speeds. Tire size affects wheel rotational speed. When replacing tires, all four tires must be the same size as originally supplied with the vehicle. Using tires of a different size may cause the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) to operate irregularly.

✽ NOTICE

  • To maintain optimum driving performance, we recommend replacing tires with the same specification as originally installed on your vehicle. Otherwise, driving characteristics may be affected.
  • When replacing tires (or wheels), it is recommended to replace the two front or two rear tires (or wheels) as a pair. Replacing only one tire may seriously affect the handling of your vehicle.

Compact Spare Tire Replacement

The compact spare tire has a shorter tread life than a regular-size tire. Replace it when you see the tread wear indicator bars on the tire. The replacement compact spare tire must be the same size and design as the one supplied with your new vehicle and must be installed on the same compact spare wheel. The compact spare wheel is not designed for installation on a regular-size wheel, and the compact spare tire is not designed for mounting on a regular-size wheel.
