Interior Care
Interior care of the Kia Opirus requires different cleaning methods depending on the material: vinyl, fabric or leather. This chapter recommends mild cleaners and gives specific instructions for treating seats, belts and window surfaces. Particularly important are instructions for avoiding damage from unsuitable cleaners and sharp tools. It also explains how to protect the defogger wires in the rear window and how to treat Alcantara materials correctly, for lasting appearance and comfort in the interior.
General note
Do not allow corrosive solvents, perfume or cosmetic oil to get onto the dashboard, as such substances can attack the plastic surface or cause discoloration. If such agents do get onto the dashboard, wipe them off immediately. Also observe the instructions for caring for vinyl surfaces.
Cleaning the Seats and Interior Trim
Caring for Vinyl
Sweep off dust and loose dirt or use a vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with vinyl cleaners intended for this purpose.
Leather
Remove dust and loose dirt with a hair brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean leather surfaces with a damp cloth or with a special leather cleaner.
Caring for Fabric
Sweep off dust and loose dirt or use a vacuum cleaner. Use a mild cleaning solution intended for cleaning upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains with a suitable stain remover.
If stains are not removed immediately, they can set and cause discoloration. Seat covers are flame-retardant. If care is inadequate, this property can be impaired.
CAUTIONUsing cleaners and cleaning methods that are not recommended can cause the seat covers to look unattractive and impair their flame-retardant property.
Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing
Clean the belt webbing with mild cleaners intended for cleaning upholstery or carpets. Follow the instructions for use of the respective cleaner. Do not dye or bleach the belt webbing, as this may weaken the belt material.
Cleaning the Interior Window Glass
Clean the window glass with a commercially available glass cleaner and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE
Do not clean the rear window with sharp-edged objects, so that the defogger wires of the rear window defroster cannot be damaged.
