Power Windows
The ignition switch must be in the ON position for the power windows to operate. Each door has a power window switch that controls the window of that door.
The driver has a window lock button that can disable the passenger windows. Power windows can operate for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition key is removed or turned to the ACC or LOCK position. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows will not operate even within the 30-second period.
✽ NOTICE
When driving with the rear windows lowered or the sunroof (if equipped) open (or partially open), the vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting or pulsating noise. This noise is normal and can be reduced or eliminated by taking the following actions. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows down, lower both front windows approximately one inch. If you notice noise with the sunroof open, slightly reduce the sunroof opening.
Opening and Closing the Window

The driver's door has a master window switch that controls all the windows in the vehicle.
To open or close the window, press or pull up the front of the corresponding window switch to the first detent (5).
Automatic Down Window (Driver's Window, if equipped)

A brief press of the power window switch to the second detent position (6) fully lowers the driver's window, even after the switch is released. To stop the window at the desired position while it is moving, briefly pull the switch in the direction opposite to the window movement.
Automatic Up/Down Window (front windows, if equipped)

Briefly press or pull up the power window switch to the second detent position (6) to fully lower or raise the window even after the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position during operation, pull up or press down and release the switch.
If the power window does not operate normally, the automatic power window system must be reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. Close the driver's window and continue to hold the driver's power window switch in the up position for at least 1 second after the window is fully closed.

Automatic Reverse (for Automatic Up/Down Window)
If the upward movement of the window is blocked by an object or a part of the body, the window will detect resistance and stop moving up. The window will then lower approximately 11.8 in (30 cm) so that the object can be cleared.
The distance may vary depending on the size or position of the window. If the window detects resistance while the power window switch is held continuously in the up position, the window will stop moving up and then lower approximately 1 in (2.5 cm).
If the power window switch is pulled up continuously for 5 seconds after the window has been lowered by the automatic reverse function, the automatic reverse function does not operate.
✽ NOTICE
The driver's window automatic reverse function is active only when the "automatic up" function is used by fully pulling the switch. The automatic reverse function will not operate if the window is raised by partially pulling the power window switch.
WARNING
Always check for obstructions before raising any window to avoid injury or damage to the vehicle. If an object less than 4 mm (0.16 inch) in diameter is caught between the window glass and the upper window frame, the auto-reverse function may not detect resistance and will not stop or reverse direction.
Power Window Lock Switch

- The driver can disable the rear passenger door window switches by pressing the window lock switch located on the driver's door to the LOCK position (pressed in).
- When the window lock switch is in the ON position, the master switch on the driver's side cannot operate the rear passenger door power windows.
CAUTION
- To avoid possible damage to the power window system, do not open or close two or more windows at the same time. This will also extend the life of the fuse.
- Never attempt to operate the driver's door master switch and the individual door window switch in opposite directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened or closed.
WARNING - Windows
- NEVER leave children unattended with the vehicle key or with the engine running.
- NEVER leave children unattended in the vehicle. Even very young children may accidentally cause the vehicle to move, become entangled in the window, or otherwise injure themselves or others.
- Always check twice to make sure all hands, fingers, head and other obstructions are safely clear before closing the window.
- Do not allow children to play with the power windows. Keep the driver's door window lock switch in the LOCK position (pressed in). Accidental opening of the window by a child may result in serious injury.
- Do not put your head or limbs outside the window while the vehicle is in motion.
