Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

Intercooler Inlet Hose & Tube

  1. Remove the air intake hose.

    (See Intake and Exhaust System - Air Cleaner)

  2. Disconnect the recirculation valve connector (A) and the vacuum hose (B).

  3. Remove the intake hose and intercooler tube assembly (A).

    Tightening Torque

    Nuts (B):

    14,7–19.6 N·m

    Nut (C):

    14,7–19.6 N·m

  4. Remove the engine compartment under cover (front).

    (See Engine and Transaxle Assembly - Under Hood)

  5. Remove the intercooler inlet hose (A).

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Intercooler Outlet Hose and Tube

  1. Disconnect the boost pressure sensor connector (A).

  2. Remove the intercooler outlet hose and pipe assembly (A).

    Tightening Torque

    Hose clamp:

    4.9–6.9 N·m (0.5–0.7 kgf·m, 3.6–5.1 ft-lbf, 43.4–60.8 in-lbf)

    (If equipped with a cap, tighten until the cap is removed.)

    Bolt:

    14,7–19.6 N·m

  3. Remove the engine compartment under cover (front).

    (See Engine and Transaxle Assembly - Under Hood)

  4. Remove the intercooler outlet hose (A).

  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the engine compartment under cover (front).

    (See Engine and Transaxle Assembly - Under Hood)

  2. Disconnect the intercooler intake hose (A).

  3. Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose (A).

  4. Place a jack under the intercooler to support the intercooler.

  5. Remove the intercooler lower mounting bracket (A).

    Tightening Torque: 21.6–26 N·m

    [LH]

    [RH]

  6. Remove the intercooler (A).

  7. Remove the intercooler upper mounting bracket (A).

    Tightening Torque: 21.6–26 N·m

    [LH]

    [RH]

  8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
