Launch Control

~2min read

Launch Control Operation

  • When using Launch Control, the driver must always make sure that the engine coolant is warmed up and has reached the recommended temperature.
  • To turn ESC Sport mode off 2, press and hold the ESC button for more than 3 seconds. (Status is displayed on the cluster screen.)
  • To launch, stop the vehicle and keep the steering wheel straight.
  • The foot brake, EPB, and Auto Hold must be released for a smooth launch.
  • Firmly depress the brake pedal with your left foot in D mode, and fully depress the accelerator pedal with your right foot. Launch Control Ready (1) will then be displayed.
  • To launch the vehicle, fully depress the accelerator pedal with your right foot, and release the brake pedal with your left foot (within 4 seconds). (Launch Control Active (2) status is displayed on the cluster screen.)
  • If the brake and accelerator pedals were applied simultaneously and the driver releases only the accelerator pedal, Launch Control will be automatically deactivated. Also, if the vehicle does not launch within 4 seconds after the brake and accelerator pedals are applied, Launch Control will automatically be deactivated.
  • Do not depress the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously for longer than 4 seconds.
  • When using Launch Control again, the driver must allow the vehicle to cool down sufficiently before driving.

Limited Use of Launch Control (3)

  • A warning message will appear on the display if the transmission fluid temperature is above a certain level when using Launch Control. In addition, Launch Control will be automatically deactivated.
  • To resolve the problem described above, the driver must cool the transmission fluid by driving the vehicle. It is strongly recommended to drive at a constant speed of more than 60 km/h, but this should only be done if the road conditions allow the driver to do so safely.

WARNING

The driver must make sure it is safe before using Launch Control. Do not use Launch Control on public roads or where pedestrians are present. This may cause an accident resulting in serious injury.

✽ NOTICE

Launch performance may vary depending on fuel, environment, tires and load conditions.

CAUTION

Continuous use of Launch Control may place excessive stress on the transmission, engine, and driveshafts, and may cause damage to the vehicle. It is strongly recommended that Launch Control be used only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
