Description and Operation
Description
Power Window Safety Function
When the driver's or passenger's power window auto-up switch is pressed, the window safety function is activated.
Safety Function Activation Conditions
When closing the window and a 100 N limit (using a 10 N/mm spring) is detected, the motor is reversed and the glass moves back.
Window Reverse Distance (except when holding the Auto-Up switch).
When a pinch (resistance) is detected at 4–250 mm from the top of the door.
→ Window lowered 300 mm from the top of the door, as shown below.

When a pinch (resistance) is detected at more than 250 mm from the top of the door.
→ Window lowers to the fully lowered position plus an additional 50 mm from the bottom position.

Window Reverse Distance (while holding the Auto-Up switch)
When a pinch (resistance) is detected while pulling the auto-up switch.
→ The window moves down 25 mm from the lock position.
The Auto Up function is unavailable for 5 seconds after the above operation.
→ When the Auto Up switch is pressed, the Manual Up function is activated (no safety function).

Zone without safety function applied
The safety function is not available within 4 mm from the top of the window frame.
How to Initialize the Safety Power Window
Battery Connection Initialization
When battery power is disconnected for more than 5 minutes, the safety power window switch must be re-initialized.
Window Operation Before Initialization
Manual up/down function is available.
Auto Up/Down Function Unavailable
(Available only up/down while holding the switch)
Initialization
When the window is in the FULLY OPEN position, press and hold the UP switch position until it is fully closed, then continue holding the switch for an additional 0.2 seconds.
(The procedure will fail if initialization starts with the window closed)
If the initialization procedure is performed while the safety system is still in pinch status, the safety function is not available.
The window safety motor uses a Hall sensor, which is used to check the motor position and direction. The safety module determines the uppermost (fully closed) position of the window and sets the position as "0" or fully closed.
Deinitialization
The window safety module is de-initialized if the conditions listed below occur. Auto-Up and Safety functions are disabled.
Deinitialization Conditions
a. Repeated downward window movement 15 or more times in a row.
b. Power supply is interrupted while the engine is running.
b. Driver's door open, ignition off, window glass in Hard Stop position -> IGN turns on within 2 seconds -> within 5 seconds with ignition on, input manual down switch signal 3 times -> De-initialization complete (if power is not supplied within 2 seconds, or the operation to be performed within 5 seconds is not completed, the de-initialization process must be repeated from the beginning.)
Safety Mode Initialization Error
The system includes a motor overheat prevention function; avoid overloading/overheating the window motor. (EEPROM data is stored in the safety module.)
If the glass moves under force and the motor is faulty, the power window switch may enter fail-safe mode for user safety.
Power Window Operation in Fail-Safe Mode
Auto/Manual-Down function is available.
Auto/Manual Up Function Unavailable
(When using auto/manual up, the window rises 20 mm and stops moving.)
