Description and Operation
Description
The temperature control actuator is located on the heater unit. It controls the temperature as follows.
The signal from the control unit adjusts the position of the temperature door using the temperature switch. The temperature is then controlled by the ratio of hot and cold air determined by the position of the temperature door.
Repair Procedures
Inspection
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector.
Check that the temperature control actuator moves to the cooling position when 12 V is applied to terminal 3 and terminal 7 is grounded.
Check that the temperature control actuator operates in the warm position when the connections are reversed.

Specification
Door Position Voltage (V) Fault Detection Max. Cool 0,5 ± 0,15 Low voltage: 0.1 V or less
High voltage: 4.9 V or moreMax. Heat 4,5 ± 0,15 If the measured voltage does not meet the specification, check operation by replacing the existing temperature control actuator with a new genuine part. Then determine whether the temperature control actuator needs to be replaced.
Replacement
[Driver]
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the airbag lower panel.
(Refer to Body - "Under Cover Panel")
Loosen the mounting screws and remove the air duct [LH] (A).

Disconnect the connector (A), loosen the mounting screws, and remove the temperature control actuator (B).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
[Passenger]
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the air bag center panel.
(Refer to Body - "Center Crash Pad Panel")
Loosen the mounting screws and remove the air duct [RH] (A).

Disconnect the connector (A), loosen the mounting screws, and remove the temperature control actuator (B).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
