Check the coolant level in the coolant reservoir. Make sure it is between the "F" and "L" marks.
If the coolant level in the reservoir is at or below the "L" mark, add coolant to a level between the "L" and "F" marks, then inspect the cooling system for leaks.
Remove the radiator cap.
Check for any excessive rust or scale deposits around the radiator cap assembly and filler neck. Also make sure the coolant is free of oil. If heavily contaminated, clean the coolant passage and replace the coolant.
Install the radiator cap.

Coolant Replacement and Air Bleeding
Make sure the engine and radiator are cold to the touch.
Remove the radiator cap (A). [Kappa 1.0 MPI, 1.2 MPI, 1.0 FFV][Kappa 1.0 T-GDI]
Remove the engine room cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Cover")
Loosen the drain plug (A) and drain the coolant.
Tighten the radiator drain plug securely.
Remove, drain the water, and reinstall the reservoir. Fill the reservoir halfway to the MAX mark with water, then with antifreeze up to the MAX mark.
Fill the radiator with water through the radiator cap opening and tighten the cap.
Start the engine and let it warm up to normal operating temperature. Wait until the cooling fans have switched on several times. Raise the engine speed to help purge trapped air. Turn off the engine.
Wait until the engine has cooled down.
Repeat steps 1 through 8 until the drained water is clean.
Slowly pour a mixture of coolant and water (45 - 60%) (except North America, Europe and China: 45-50%) through the radiator cap. Squeeze the upper/lower radiator hoses so that air is released easily.
Start the engine and allow the coolant to circulate.
When the cooling fan is operating and the coolant is circulating, add coolant through the radiator cap.
Repeat step 11 until the cooling fan has operated 3-5 times and air has been sufficiently removed from the cooling system.
Install the radiator cap and fill the coolant reservoir to the "MAX" (or "F") line (A).
Run the vehicle at idle until the cooling fan has cycled 2–3 times.
Stop the engine and wait for the coolant to cool down.
Repeat steps 10 through 15 to bleed air from the cooling system until the coolant level stops dropping.Coolant capacity: [Kappa 1.0 MPI, 1.0 FFV] approx. 5 L (1.32 US gal, 5.28 US qt, 4.40 Imp qt) [Kappa 1.2 MPI] approx. 5.5 L (1.45 US gal, 5.81 US qt, 4.84 Imp qt) [Kappa 1.0 T-GDI] approx. 5.3 L (1.40 US gal, 5.60 US qt, 4.66 Imp qt)
