SRS system care
In this manual: SRS system care
~2min read
The SRS system requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no service operations that can be performed by the owner.
If the SRS airbag warning light "
" does not come on when the ignition key is turned to ON, or stays on at all times, have the vehicle checked immediately by an authorised Kia dealer.
WARNING
- Any modification to the SRS components or wiring, including attaching badges or other items to the pad covers or the body structure, may impair the correct operation of the system and endanger personal safety.
- To clean the airbag module covers, use a soft, dry cloth dampened with clean water. The use of solvents or cleaners can damage the airbag covers and impair the proper operation of the system.
- Do not place any objects on or near the airbag modules located in the steering wheel, on the dashboard, and on the passenger side of the instrument panel above the glove box, as these objects could become projectiles if the vehicle is involved in an accident severe enough to deploy the airbags.
- After the airbags have deployed, they must be replaced by an authorised Kia dealer.
- Do not handle or disconnect the wiring or components of the SRS system. The airbags could deploy accidentally or be rendered inoperative, endangering personal safety.
- When disposing of the airbag system or scrapping the vehicle, certain safety rules must be observed.
Any authorised Kia dealer is fully familiar with these safety rules and can provide you with all the necessary information.
Failure to comply with these safety rules and procedures endangers personal safety.
