NOTICE To avoid damaging the conductors on the inside surface of the rear window, do not use sharp tools or glass cleaners containing abrasives.

NOTE To defrost and defog the windshield, refer to "Windshield defrosting and defogging" in this chapter.

The rear window defroster removes frost, condensation and a thin layer of ice from the rear window when the engine is running.

To activate the rear window defroster, press the dedicated button.

When the rear window defroster is activated, the indicator light on its button comes on.

If there is snow accumulated on the rear window, remove it before operating the rear window defroster.

The rear window defroster turns off automatically after approximately 20 minutes or when the ignition switch is turned to OFF. To turn off the rear window defroster, press the button again.

Outside rearview mirror defroster (if equipped) If the vehicle is equipped with anti-icing outside rearview mirror defrosters, they will activate at the same time as the rear window defroster.
