Speed limiter system

You can set a speed limit if you want to drive without exceeding a specific speed.

If you drive faster than the set limit, the warning system activates (the set limit flashes and the buzzer sounds) until the speed returns within the set limit.

NOTE When the speed limiter is operating, the cruise control cannot be activated.

Speed limiter switch

: Turns the speed limiter system on or off. (ON CANCEL OFF)

: Switches between cruise control mode and speed limiter mode.

RES+: Resumes or increases the speed limiter set speed.

SET-: Sets or decreases the speed limiter set speed.

To set the speed limit:

1. Press thebutton on the steering wheel, then press thebutton to turn the system on.

The speed limiter indicator will come on.

2. Push the lever down (to SET-).
3. Pull the lever up (to RES+) or push it down (to SET-) and release it when the desired speed is reached. Pull the lever up (to RES+) or push it down (to SET-) and hold it there. The speed will increase or decrease by 5 km/h.

Move the lever up (to RES+) or down (to SET-) and release it immediately.

The speed will increase or decrease by 1 km/h.

The set speed limit will be displayed.

To exceed the set limit, press the accelerator pedal fully down (beyond 80% of its travel) until you feel the kickdown mechanism engage with a click. The set speed limit will then flash and the buzzer will sound until the vehicle speed falls back within the limit.

NOTE

• If the accelerator pedal is pressed less than 50% of its travel, the vehicle speed will remain within the set limit.
• The operating noise (click) produced by the kickdown mechanism when the accelerator pedal is pressed fully down is normal.

To deactivate the speed limiter control, use one of the following methods:

• Press the button.
• Press the button. The Cruise Control system will be activated.

If this should happen, it is recommended that you have the system checked by an authorised Kia dealer.
