Using Child Restraints
In this manual: Using Child Restraints
~1min read

Small children and infants must always ride in a child restraint.
The child seat must be suitable for the child's height and must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Another requirement is to install the child seat on a rear seat of the vehicle. Your vehicle is equipped with anchors for securing child or infant seats (if equipped). For safety reasons, we recommend that child seats be used on the rear seats of the vehicle.
WARNING Never place a rear-facing child seat on the front passenger seat. The passenger airbag may deploy and strike the child seat, causing fatal injury to the child.- A child may suffer serious injury or death in an accident if the child seat is not properly installed in the vehicle or the child is not properly restrained in the seat. Before installing a child seat, read the child restraint system manufacturer's instructions.
- If the seat belts do not function as described in this section, have them checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
- Failure to follow the recommendations in this Owner's Manual regarding child seats, as well as the instructions of the child seat manufacturer, will increase the likelihood and/or severity of injury in an accident.
