Airbag deployment conditions
Front airbags

The front airbags are designed to deploy in frontal collisions, depending on the severity, speed, and angle of impact, slightly to the left or right of straight ahead.
Side collision and curtain airbags (if equipped)

The side airbags (and/or curtain airbags) are designed to deploy when the side crash sensors detect a side collision, depending on the severity, speed, and angle of impact resulting from a side collision.
Although the front airbags (driver and passenger) are designed to deploy only in frontal collisions, they may also deploy in other types of collisions if the front crash sensors detect a sufficiently strong impact. The side airbags (and/or curtain airbags) are designed to deploy in side collisions, but they may also deploy in other types of collisions if the side crash sensors detect a sufficiently strong impact.
If the vehicle body is struck by bumpers or other objects on unpaved roads or sidewalks, this may cause an airbag to deploy. When driving on unpaved roads or other surfaces not suitable for vehicles, drive carefully to avoid unintentional airbag deployment.
