Infants and small children
Check the regulations in your country. Child restraints and/or infant seats must be correctly installed and secured on the rear seats. For more information on child seats, see the "Child restraints" section in this chapter.
WARNING Every occupant of the vehicle should be properly restrained at all times, including infants and children. Never hold a child on your lap or in your arms while driving. The enormous forces generated in an accident can throw a child out of an adult's arms and into the vehicle interior. Always transport a child in a child restraint suitable for their weight and height.
NOTICE Small children are best protected from injury in an accident when a child restraint that complies with the safety standards in your country is secured on the rear seat. Before buying a child restraint, make sure it is marked as complying with the safety standards in your country. The child restraint must suit the child's height and weight.
To find this information, check the labels on the child restraint. See the "Child restraints" section in this chapter.
