Outside Rear View Mirror

Always adjust the mirror angles before driving.

Your vehicle is equipped with both left and right outside rearview mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted remotely using the remote control switch (if equipped). The mirror heads can be folded to prevent damage during an automatic car wash or when driving through a narrow street.

The passenger-side outside rearview mirror is convex. Objects seen in the mirror are closer than they appear.

Use the inside rearview mirror or look directly over your shoulder to judge the actual distance to vehicles following when changing lanes.

WARNING - Rearview Mirror

Do not scrape ice off the mirror; this may damage the glass surface. If ice prevents mirror movement, do not force the mirror adjustment. To remove ice, use a defrosting spray, sponge, or soft cloth with very warm water.

WARNING - Mirror Adjustment

Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while driving. This may cause loss of vehicle control.

CAUTION

When cleaning the mirror, use a paper towel or similar material moistened with glass cleaner. Do not spray glass cleaner directly onto the mirror. This may cause liquid cleaner to enter the mirror housing.

Remote Control

Electric Type

The electric remote control mirror switch is used to adjust the position of the left and right outside rearview mirrors. To adjust the position of either mirror, the ignition switch must be in the ACC or ON position.

To adjust either mirror, press the R or L button (1) to select the right or left side mirror, then press the corresponding point (▲) on the mirror adjustment control to move the selected mirror up, down, left, or right.

After adjusting, press the R or L button again to prevent unintentional changes.

CAUTION - Outside Mirror

• The mirrors stop moving when they reach the maximum adjustment angle, but the motor continues to run as long as the switch is pressed. Do not hold the switch longer than necessary, as the motor may be damaged.
• Do not attempt to adjust the outside rearview mirror manually. Doing so may damage the components.

Folding the Outside Rearview Mirror

Electric Type

To fold the outside rearview mirror, press the button.

To unfold it, press the button again.

CAUTION - Power Outside Rearview Mirror

The power outside rearview mirrors operate even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. However, to prevent unnecessary battery discharge, do not adjust the mirrors longer than necessary with the engine off.

CAUTION

Do not fold the power outside rearview mirror manually. This may cause motor failure.

Manual Type

To fold the outside rearview mirror, grasp the mirror housing and fold it toward the rear of the vehicle.
