Hood Opening

1. Pull the hood release lever. The hood should pop up slightly.

WARNING

Open the hood after turning off the engine on a level surface, by shifting the shift lever to P (Park) for the intelligent variable transmission, or to 1st gear or R (Reverse) for the manual transmission, and setting the parking brake.

2. Go to the front of the vehicle, slightly lift the hood, press the secondary latch (1) in the center of the hood, and lift the hood (2).

3. Remove the support rod from the hood.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

WARNING - Hot Components

Hold the support rod by the rubber-covered area. The rubber helps prevent burns from hot metal when the engine is hot.
