Repair Procedures

Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition on.

  2. Manually operate the control switch and measure the blower motor voltage.

  3. Select the control switch to raise the voltage to high speed.

    *AUTO COOL: Automatic speed (4.5 V to B+)

    *AUTO HEAT: Automatic speed (4.5 V to 10.5 V)

  4. If the measured voltage does not meet the specification, replace the MOSFET with a known good one. Turn on the MOSFET and check its operation.

  5. If the problem is resolved, replace the power MOSFET.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the power MOSFET (B) after loosening the mounting screws.

  3. Installation is the reverse of removal.
