Temperature Control Actuator
Description and Operation
Description
The heater unit includes the mode control actuator and the temperature control actuator.
The temperature control actuator is located on the heater unit. It adjusts the temperature as follows. A signal from the control unit adjusts the position of the temperature door using the operating temperature switch, and the temperature is then regulated by the ratio of hot and cold air determined by the position of the temperature door.
Repair Procedures
Inspection
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector.
Make sure the temperature control actuator operates to the heat (LHD) or cold (RHD) position when 12 V is applied to terminal 3 and ground is connected to terminal 4.
Make sure the temperature control actuator operates in the cooling (LHD) or warm (RHD) position when connected in reverse.

Turn the ignition on.
Check the voltage between terminals 6 and 5 (LHD) or 7 (RHD).
Specification
Door Position Voltage (V) Fault Detection Max. Cool 0,4 Low voltage: 0.1 V or less Max. Heat 4.6 High voltage: 4.9 V or more
It will transmit the current actuator position to the controllers.
If the measured voltage does not meet the specification, replace the temperature control actuator with a known good one and check operation.
If the problem is resolved, replace the temperature control actuator.
Replacement
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the driver side air vent duct (A) after loosening the screw.

Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the temperature control actuator (B) after loosening the mounting screws.

Installation is the reverse of removal.
