Kia Soul. Warning

If the vehicle departs from the lane or road edge, the lane marker or road edge being crossed will flash on the LCD display and a warning chime will sound.

Kia Soul. Warning

If the driver removes their hands from the steering wheel for several seconds while LKA is active, the system will warn the driver.

WARNING

  • The warning message may appear late depending on road conditions. Therefore, always keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving.
  • If you lightly hold the steering wheel, the system may generate a hands-off warning, because the LKA system may treat the situation as if you are not holding the wheel.
  • If continuous hands-off driving occurs, the warning chime may be extended and continue to sound even after LKA steering control is turned off.

WARNING

  • The driver is responsible for accurate steering.
  • Even though the system assists steering, the driver must still control the steering wheel.
  • Turn off the system and drive the vehicle manually in the following situations.
    - In bad weather.
    - On poor road conditions.
    - When the driver must frequently operate the steering wheel.
    - When towing a vehicle or trailer.
  • The steering wheel may feel heavier when the system is operating than when it is not.

The system will be cancelled when:

  • When changing lanes, use the turn signal.
    - Use the turn signal when changing lanes.
    - If you change lanes without the turn signal on, the steering wheel may be controlled unexpectedly.
  • The LKA system may enter steering assist mode when the vehicle approaches the center of the lane after the system is turned on or the lane is changed. The LKA system cannot provide steering assistance if the vehicle follows the lane marking too closely before entering steering assist mode.
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control) or VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) control is activated.
  • Steering assistance will not be provided when driving quickly through a sharp curve.
  • Steering assistance will not operate if the vehicle speed is below 55 km/h (34 mph) and above 200 km/h.
  • Steering assistance will not operate if you change lanes or cross the road edge quickly.
  • Steering assistance will not be provided during sudden braking.
  • Steering assistance will not be provided if the lane is very wide or very narrow.
  • There are more than two lane markers, such as at a construction zone.
  • The radius of the curve is too small.
  • When the steering wheel is turned sharply, the LKA system will be temporarily deactivated.
  • Driving on a steep slope or hill.
