Check the temporary spare tire at least once a month to make sure it is properly inflated and stored.

CAUTION

The condition of the temporary spare tire gradually deteriorates, even when it is not used.

The temporary spare wheel is easier to handle because of its design. It is lighter and smaller than a standard wheel. It should be used only in emergencies and only for short distances.

Use the temporary spare wheel only until the standard wheel is repaired. Have the repair carried out as soon as possible.

CAUTION

  • Do not fit a winter tire or a full-size tire on the temporary spare wheel rim. Even if it is fitted correctly, both the tire and the rim may be damaged.
  • The expected tread life of the temporary spare tire is less than 5000 km. This distance may be shorter depending on driving conditions.
  • The temporary spare wheel is intended for temporary use only. If the tire shows signs of tread wear, replace it with a tire of the same type (page 6-48).
