  • WARNING
  • Gasoline is an extremely flammable substance that can also become highly explosive under certain conditions. Improper use or handling may cause burns or serious injury. When refueling, always turn off the engine, do not smoke, and keep all flames and sparks away from the vehicle.
  • Do not attempt to continue filling the fuel tank after the fuel pump nozzle has shut off automatically. Overfilling could cause the tank to overflow, spray fuel, and cause a fire.
  • Replace a fuel filler cap only with an original cap. It has a built-in safety valve necessary for proper operation of the fuel system and emissions control system. Using an improper cap may cause a significant malfunction and injury. Such use may also cause the malfunction indicator lamp .
    to come on.
  • Never attempt to start the vehicle by pouring fuel into the throttle body.
  • Do not fill a portable fuel container while it is in your vehicle or trailer. Static electricity may cause an explosion due to the presence of flammable liquids, vapors or gases. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury when filling a portable fuel container, make sure to follow these guidelines:
  • Always place the container on the ground to fill it.
  • Do not use any electronic devices while filling.
  • Keep the fuel dispenser nozzle in contact with the container while filling.
  • Use only a portable container approved for flammable liquids.
