Check where all Intelligent Keys registered for your vehicle are located. If another Intelligent Key is within range of the vehicle or inside the cabin, the system may operate differently than expected.

Symptom Possible cause Solution
When the engine is off The Shift to P (park) warning appears on the display and the interior chime sounds continuously. The selector lever is not in the P (park) position. Move the selector lever to the P (park) position.
When you open the driver's door to get out of the vehicle The Door open warning appears on the display and the interior chime sounds continuously. The ignition switch is in the ACC (accessory) position. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
When you close the driver's door after getting out of the vehicle The No key detected warning appears on the display, the exterior chime sounds 3 times, and the interior chime sounds for about 3 seconds. The ignition switch is in the ACC (accessory) or ON position. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
The Shift to P (park) warning appears on the display and the exterior chime sounds continuously. The ignition switch is in the ACC (accessory) position and the selector lever is not in the P (park) position. Move the selector lever to the P (park) position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
When the driver's door is closed while the interior lock button is in the LOCK position The exterior chime sounds for about three seconds and all doors unlock. The Intelligent Key is inside the cabin. Have the Intelligent Key with you.
When the LOCK button on the Intelligent Key is pressed to lock the door The exterior chime sounds for about two seconds. The Intelligent Key is inside the cabin. Have the Intelligent Key with you.
When you press the ignition switch to start the engine The Key battery low indicator appears on the display. The battery voltage is low. Replace the battery with a new one.

(Refer to 'Battery' in the 'Owner Maintenance and Service' chapter.) The Key ID Incorrect warning appears on the display, the outside chime sounds 3 times, and the inside chime sounds for about 3 seconds. The Intelligent Key is not in the vehicle. Have the Intelligent Key with you. When you press the ignition switch The Intelligent Key system indicator lights up yellow on the display. It warns the driver that there is a malfunction in the Intelligent Key system. Contact a NISSAN dealer.
