Trunk access from inside

The trunk can be accessed from the driver's side (depending on equipment) and the passenger's side of the rear seat to load and unload luggage, as illustrated.

  1. Move the front passenger seat to its most forward position.
  2. Open the access cover located on the rear shelf.
  3. Press button 1 located on the rear shelf.
  4. Fold down the passenger side seatback 2.

WARNING

  • Do not allow anyone to sit in the cargo area or on the rear seat when the seat is folded down. Persons in these areas without proper restraint systems risk serious injury in an accident or sudden stop.
  • Secure all luggage with ropes or straps to prevent it from sliding or moving. Do not stack luggage higher than the seatbacks. In a sudden stop or collision, unsecured luggage could cause injury.
  • When returning the seatbacks to the upright position, make sure they are securely locked. If they are not properly locked, passengers could be injured in an accident or sudden stop.
  • Supervise children closely when they play near a vehicle to prevent them from accidentally becoming trapped in the trunk, where they could suffer serious injury. Keep the vehicle locked, make sure the rear seatback and trunk lid are securely latched when not in use, and keep vehicle keys out of children's reach.
