Mot. 1311-01 Fuel pressure gauges and fuel pressure test connections

FUEL VAPOUR CANISTER CHECK

  • On the fuel vapour canister, plug the circuit coming from the fuel tank.
  • Connect a pressure gauge from tool (Mot. 1311-01) to the canister atmospheric vent outlet.
  • With the engine at idle, check that there is no vacuum at the canister atmospheric vent outlet (likewise, the command value read by the diagnostic tool parameter "Fuel vapour canister purge solenoid valve duty cycle" must remain at a minimum X, less than or equal to 1.5 %).

    Is there a vacuum?

  • Yes: ignition off, apply a vacuum of 500 mbar to the solenoid valve outlet using a vacuum pump. The vacuum must not vary by more than 10 mbar in 30 seconds.

Does the pressure vary?

  • Yes: the solenoid valve is faulty, replace the solenoid valve.
  • No: this is an electrical fault, check the circuit.
  • No: under purge conditions (see "purge conditions"), the vacuum must increase (at the same time, the parameter value on the diagnostic tool increases).

FUEL TANK TO CANISTER CONNECTION CHECK

  • Check this connection by connecting a vacuum pump to the pipe leading to the canister.
