REMOVAL
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift.
- Remove the engine covers.
- Remove the battery cover.
- Disconnect the battery, starting with the negative terminal.
- Remove the engine undertray

- Drain the automatic gearbox through the plug (1).
- Remove:
- the wheels,
- the air intake duct.

- Disconnect the wiring harness:
- from the battery (2),
- from the battery tray (3),
- from the injection ECU (4).
- Remove:
- the battery,
- the ECU,
- the battery support.

- Disconnect the wiring harness (5) from the side reinforcement.
- Remove:
- the screws (6) on the side reinforcement plate,
- the side reinforcement.

- Remove the four screws (7) securing the hydraulic valve body cover (fluid may flow out).

- Remove the seven hydraulic valve body mounting screws.
- Disconnect the solenoid valve connectors.
- Remove the hydraulic valve body.
INSTALLATION

- Fit the valve body, centring it using the screws (4) and (5).
- Refit the other screws.
- Tighten the valve body mounting screws in sequence to torque (0.75 daN.m).
DETENT PLATE ADJUSTMENT

- Hold the multifunction switch lever in the extreme position (forced first) using a cable tie and a screw in the mechanism housing.

- Remove the screw (8).
- Position the detent plate by placing the roller (9) in the notch (11) of the sector (10) corresponding to the first-gear position.

- Position the detent plate bracket mounting screw (12) without tightening it.
- Fit the tool (Bvi. 1462) in place of the screw (8).
- Screw the tool fully in while holding the detent plate.
- Tighten the detent plate bracket mounting screw (12) to torque (0.9 daN.m).
- Remove the tool (Bvi. 1462).
- Refit the detent plate mounting screw (8).
- Tighten the detent plate mounting screw to torque (0.8 daN.m).
- If the valve body has been replaced, reset the adaptive values using command RZ00:5 "Clearing adaptive values", and reset the gearbox ECU oil ageing counter using the diagnostic tool by running command CF074: "Write gearbox oil change date".
After running command RZ005, it is important to carry out a road test performing several upshifts and downshifts to store the new values.
- Tighten to the following torques:
- the cover mounting screws (1 daN.m),
- the accumulator (4 daN.m),
- the reinforcement plate mounting screws (2.1 daN.m).
- Refit in the reverse order of removal.
Connect the battery; carry out the necessary relearn procedures (Chapter Battery).
- Torque the battery cover (0.4 daN.m).
