Identification
DP0
Automatic gearbox identification marking.

I - SPECIFICATIONS
Weight: 70 kg.
Vehicles fitted with the DP0 automatic gearbox are equipped with systems called "Shift lock" and "Lock-up".
The "Shift lock" prevents the gear selector lever from being moved unless the brake pedal is pressed at the same time.
Note: For troubleshooting when the battery is faulty, refer to the vehicle's owner's handbook. The "Lock-up" (torque converter clutch) connects the automatic gearbox directly to the engine. This function is performed by a "mini clutch" located inside the torque converter.
The "Lock-up" is controlled by the automatic gearbox control module.
The automatic gearbox is lubricated under pressure, so lubrication is only provided when the engine is running.
Consequently, and to avoid serious damage, observe the following instructions: - never drive with the ignition off (for example, downhill); this practice is very dangerous, - never push the vehicle (for example, to reach a petrol station), except by taking the precautions described in the "Towing" section.
The vehicle can only be driven when the engine is running. It is therefore impossible to start the engine of a vehicle with an automatic gearbox by pushing the vehicle.
II - TOWING
In all cases, it is preferable to have the vehicle towed on a flatbed truck or with the front wheels raised.
If this is not possible, towing may exceptionally be carried out at a lower speed, with a maximum of 20 km/h and over a distance limited to 30 km (lever in position N).
WARNINGTowable load (caravan, boat, etc.):
- The towed load must not exceed 950 kg for a DP0 gearbox.
- Exceeding this maximum load on a 7% gradient causes the engine oil and automatic gearbox oil to overheat beyond their maximum temperature, which will damage the system.
