ECU pin 26 → Pin B12 Modular connector male plug

Reconnect the "modular connector".

Check between pins 24 and 25 of the ECU connector that the oil pressure sensor resistance is approximately 20 kΩ.

If the value is not correct, replace the sensor.

Check between pins 20 and 26 of the ECU connector that the pressure modulation solenoid valve resistance is 1 Ω ±0.2 Ω at approximately 23 °C.

If the value is not within specification, the solenoid valve or the electro-hydraulic interface harness is damaged.

Check the quality and level of the transmission fluid.

If work is required, refer to the Repair Manual, chapter "Draining - Filling - Levels".

Check that there is no oil leak from the gearbox.

(continued on next page)

Refer to the Repair Manual, section "Line pressure tapping".

Fit the pressure gauge to measure line pressure.

Engine warm with transmission oil temperature between 60 and 80 °C, measure the difference between the line pressure sensor (PR003) and the pressure gauge under the following conditions:
  • Engine off: the pressure gauge must show a residual pressure of approximately 0.2 bar.

If the sensor reading differs by more than 0.2 bar, replace the sensor.

  • Engine running at approximately 1200 rpm: the pressure gauge must reach 7 bar.

If the sensor reading differs by more than 0.8 bar, replace the sensor.

Engine warm with transmission oil temperature between 60 and 80 °C. Measure the line pressure values under the following conditions:
  • Selector lever in "P" or "N" and engine speed at 2000 rpm: the pressure must be between 2.6 and 3.2 bar.
  • Selector lever in "R" and engine speed at 2000 rpm: the pressure must be greater than 4 bar.
  • Selector lever in "D" and engine speed at 2000 rpm: the pressure in first gear must be greater than 7 bar.

If the values do not conform, there is an internal problem in the transmission.

If the fault persists, contact your Techline.

AFTER REPAIR

Restart the conformity check from the beginning.

PR004 TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE

Check insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance of the following links: (See the "System operation and pin assignment" chapter for the location of the "modular connector" connector.)

ECU pin 53 → Pin B4 Modular connector male plug
ECU pin 54 → Pin B1 Modular connector male plug
ECU pin 12 → Pin E1 Modular connector male plug
ECU pin 2 → Pin E2 Modular connector male pl

Reconnect the "modular connector".

Check between pins 53 and 54 of the ECU connector, the oil pressure sensor resistance.

The resistance must be between 2360 and 2660 Ω at a temperature of 20 °C, and between 290 and 327 Ω at a temperature of 80 °C.

If the value is not as specified, the sensor or the electro-hydraulic interface harness is faulty.

Reconnect the "modular connector".

Check between pins 12 and 2 of the ECU connector that the resistance of the converter flow solenoid valve is 40 Ω ±4 Ω at an ambient temperature of approximately 20 °C.

If the value is not within specification, the solenoid valve or the harness is damaged.

Check that the oil/water heat exchanger is not clogged.

AFTER REPAIR

Restart the conformity check from the beginning.

PR007 TURBINE SPEED

INSTRUCTIONS

No fault must be present or stored.

Check the installation of the turbine speed sensor.
Disconnect the battery.

Disconnect the "modular connector" and check the cleanliness and condition of the connections.

Disconnect the ECU. Check that the connector is clean and in good condition. Use the "Universal Terminal Block Elé. 1681". Check the insulation and continuity of the following links (see the "System operation and pin assignment" chapter for the reference of the "modular connector").

ECU pin 45 → Pin D1 modular connector male plug
ECU pin 46 → Pin D2 modular connector male plug

Reconnect the "modular connector".

Check between pins 45 and 46 of the ECU connector that the resistance of the turbine speed sensor is approximately 300 Ω ±40 Ω.

If the value is not within specification, the sensor or the harness is faulty. Replace the faulty component.

If the fault persists after replacing the sensor, contact your Techline.

AFTER REPAIR

Restart the conformity check from the beginning.

PR008 CONTROL MODULE SUPPLY VOLTAGE

INSTRUCTIONS

No fault must be present or stored.

All consumers switched off.

Carry out a full check of the battery and charging circuit. (See values in the repair manual.)
Disconnect the ECU.

Check the condition and cleanliness of the contacts.

Make sure the ECU earth connection on the front left side member of the vehicle is good.
In the Protection and Switching Unit, check the 20 A permanent-supply fuse of the ECU, referenced "15". Check that the connector is clean and in good condition.
In the Protection and Switching Unit, check the 5 A after-ignition fuse of the ECU, referenced "5H". Check that the connector is clean and in good condition.
Disconnect the ECU.

Disconnect the ECU. Check the cleanliness and condition of the connector.

In the Protection and Switching Unit, disconnect the connector referenced "PPM2".

ECU pin 56 → Pin 1 of connector PPM2
ECU pin 27 → Pin 10 of connector PPM2
ECU pin 28 → Electronic earth on front left side member 2

Reconnect the battery.

With ignition on, check for +12 V on pins 56 and 27 of the ECU connector.

If there is no +12 V, there is a fault in the Protection and Switching Unit.

Carry out a diagnosis of the Protection and Switching Unit.
