"Basic" navigation: Location

~1min read

Calibrate the system when the radio navigation unit is fitted.

If calibration is not carried out, the system can be used in radio mode but navigation mode will not work.

Note:
  • The time cannot be set if calibration has not been carried out.
  • If the vehicle has been transported by train or on a car ferry, the navigation system may take several minutes to find its exact position again (see " calibration ").
  • If the vehicle battery has been disconnected, the system may take up to 20 minutes to find its exact position. The vehicle must then be outdoors (system switched on so that it can receive satellite signals via the GPS antenna).
  • The unit can also operate without valid GPS data. In this case, position determination may be less accurate.

CALIBRATION

  • Switch the system on.
  • Insert the navigation CD-ROM (the system displays "please wait").
  • Select the language:
  • French,
  • Italian,
  • Dutch,
  • Portuguese,
  • Swedish,
  • Flemish.
  • Wait for the system to display:
  • "loading language",
  • "language installed".
  • Confirm (the system displays the legal welcome message).
  • Confirm, or return to the language selection (the system displays "calibration run", and system calibration can begin).
