The GPS antenna receives satellite signals so that the electronic navigation unit (CD-ROM drive) can locate the vehicle.

When the satellite link is good, a green icon (1) is displayed on the screen.
When the satellite link is poor (driving through a tunnel, in a narrow street between tall buildings, etc.), a red icon is displayed on the screen.
Note: After disconnecting the battery or replacing the electronic navigation unit, relocation is automatic: park the vehicle outside in a clear location, ignition on, and wait a few minutes. When the GPS (satellite) link is good, a green icon is displayed on the screen. WARNINGThe GPS antenna cable is very fragile: do not bend or pinch it.
Note: The GPS antenna is also used for the hands-free telephone. Some vehicles are fitted with a dual-band antenna. For removal of the antenna, see the "antenna" section.
