Description

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors the air pressure and temperature inside the tires to warn the driver of pressure changes that may affect vehicle performance. The TPMS control module analyzes wireless information. In other words, the system determines the tire air pressure and warns the driver if the tire air pressure drops below the standard level. Low tire pressure warning light on the instrument panel.
Light ON/OFF. Conditions when tire pressure decreases or air leaks from the tire.
  1. Light ON
    A. The light illuminates when the tire pressure drops below the standard level.
  2. Light OFF
    A. Low tire pressure: the warning light turns off when the tire pressure exceeds the pressure required to turn off the light.
  3. Warning Conditions and Display
    A. When the system detects a malfunction in an external operating condition (low battery voltage, abnormal vehicle speed, etc.), the warning light flashes for about 1 minute and then remains on.
  4. Light OFF
    A. The lamp turns off when the DTC is cleared. The DTC is automatically erased when the system does not receive any error signals for 30 or more ignition cycles after the previous DTC was set.
    • If this phenomenon occurs while driving, check the cause of the malfunction even after the DTC has been cleared. (Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON. Then check the condition of the light.)
    • The warning light turns off after the DTC is cleared. The warning light remains on until you perform the inspection required to troubleshoot the DTC.
    • If the DTC is cleared, the warning light turns off within the same ignition cycle.
  5. General Operation
    A. The system receives many input elements to detect potential malfunctions.
    B. The priority of a malfunction depends on its cause.
    C. Some malfunctions are not diagnosed as DTCs.
The main malfunctions are as follows:
    A. To diagnose more malfunction symptoms when there is an ignition line malfunction, you must check the warning light when you turn the ignition on.
    B. Check whether the warning light comes on and then turns off.
