Use new mounting bolts when replacing the SRSCM after a collision. When installing the SRSCM bolt, install the ground wire (B) with the bolt as shown in the figure above.
  4. Connect the SRSCM wiring harness connector.
  5. Install the heater ducts and floor console. (Refer to Body - "Floor Console Assembly")
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. After installing the SRSCM, verify that the system operates correctly:
    A. Turn the ignition ON; the SRS indicator should illuminate for approximately six seconds, then turn off.

Variant Coding

After replacing the SRSCM with a new one, perform the "Variant Coding" procedure.
  1. In variant coding mode, the SRSCM airbag warning lamp blinks periodically (ON: 0.5 s, OFF: 0.5 s) until the coding is completed normally.
  2. If variant coding fails, DTC B1762 (ACU Coding Error) will be displayed and the warning lamp will illuminate. In this case, repeat the variant coding procedure after confirming the cause in "DTC Fault State Information". Variant coding can be performed up to 255 times, but if the number of coding operations exceeds 255, DTC B1683 (Maximum Coding Count Exceeded) will be displayed and the SRSCM must be replaced.
  3. If the battery voltage is low (less than 9 V), DTC B1102 will be displayed. In this case, first charge the battery, and then perform the variant coding procedure. DTC B1762 (ACU Coding Error) and B1102 (Low Battery Voltage) may be displayed at the same time.
