Removing the Clutch Slave Cylinder

~1min read

PROCEDURE

Raise and support the front left side of the vehicle.

Carefully unscrew the pressure hose of the slave cylinder hydraulic line. Brake fluid will run out and must be collected.

Loosen the retaining bolt on the cylinder and pull the slave cylinder rearward out of the gearbox housing.

If necessary, use rust penetrant and a pry bar.

Lightly lubricate the new cylinder on the unpainted housing walls and apply MoS2 paste to the actuating pushrod.

Insert the slave cylinder into the gearbox housing and press it in far enough to screw the retaining bolt into the thread on the gearbox housing (25 Nm).

Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
